It was a weird time of the day, dusk. A beautiful one at that. The weather was perculiar. It was hot, wasn't it always? But there were the darkest of dark clouds rolling in over the field, with the burning orange sunlight trying to burn through them but not very succesful at doing so. An eerie orange mist hung over the grass of the field making the whole place glow almost. Vertigo, he thought it was the most amazing sight. He walked slowly through the grasses and the orange and grapefruit trees, passing them one by one and looking for the biggest and tastiest out of all the fruit.
Finally, he saw one; the fruits big as ever, bright and plump. He walked over under the tree, put his huge paws on the trunk, and bumped one of the oranges with his nose and amazingly, it popped right off and rolled by down his feet. He slumped into a lying posistion, and ate the orange and felt the sweet taste surge through his mouth. The true taste of Florida. When the brute was finnished, he sat up, sighed, and watched the clouds continue to roll in. Loneliness was not a good thing at this time.

Finally they day was cooling down. Trotting down a dusty lane, tail was held high, swaying with her movements. Golden pelt shone in a glow-like fashion, the sun warming her. Yes, the heat was still there, but it wasn't that bad. Slowing to a complete halt, black nose twitched. Hm, that seemed like the scent of another dog. Unknown to her, for the time being, that is. In a rather placid mood, she split off from the path and into the grass filed. It felt nice to stretch her legs out, the wind she created by running blowing at her face. The long grass swished rhythmically, a faint track left in her wake. Coming to a slower pace as the male came into view, orbs scanned over him. he looked to be rather strong and burly, a while pelt giving him a fluffy appearance. Smirking, hazel gaze settled upon him. "Lo there, brute."

The taste of the orange was still in his mouth even when the other fae arrived. He got up rather suddenly, awkwardly because he didn't expect to see anybody else around the area. He nodded at her words, 'Lo there brute.' "Vertigo." He stated his name very simply and clearly, deeply, mysteriously. "Evening, fae." His voice was deep and mysterious, yes, but it held a friendly tone as well. He wasn't evil nor dark. He took this time to study her, she was obviously good looking. She resembled him a little bit, in some ways. Fur color, tail, eyes... Yes. He hadn't talked to another in what seemed like forever. A smile suddenly grew onto his expression. He wasn't a threat.

He didn't seem to be your typical brute. Pride, arrogance...That was what she had expect. well, this was certainly a nice change. He seemed to be on the mysterious side, but hey, they were all mysteries in their own way. Nodding somewhat, she sat down, ears pricked toward him. "I hope I am not intruding, Vertigo... I am Nani." A soft smile lit her features, but faded quickly away. She wasn't accustomed to being happy all the time. Feathered tail curling around her haunches the field began to grow darker as the light faded the sun slowly sinking further into the horizon.
OoC|| Sorry, rushed.

He sat with his tail curled across his muscular bodice, staring her in the eye but not exactly staring... why, it'd be rude of course. "I hope I am not intruding, Vertigo... I am Nani." He dipped his head, shut his eyes for a mere moment and than opened them. "Not a'tall." He murmured softly. "It's a change." He paused and looked around. "To see somebody else here." It was, it was true. For some reason, he hadn't passed barley any other dogs on his way to this place and hadn't spoken to any. She was the first in a while. Crickets buzzed in the field, the music of dusk and night. His favorite kind of music.

The sound of the crickets filled her auds, and oddly enough, it was rather calming. This was a serene place, no others besides herself and Vertigo. He seemed to be easy going, but she guess that he could be savage if the need came. "If you'll excuse me for a moment..." Turning on her haunches, muscles flexed beneath her hide, but was not visible for the wavy golden-brown hairs that made up her pelt. Nani wasn't sure when she had eaten a good meal last. The day before she had found a good garbage heap, but some silly human had chased her off, pelting her with stones from the gravel road. But this abandoned field seemed like a good place to get some food. Too bad meat didn't grow on trees. Oh well, this would subdue her hunger for now. Weight lifted from the earth, hind supporting her, she leapt at a lower hanging branch. Jaws snapped, a lone grapefruit tumbling down onto the long grass. Sniffing it out, she picked it up and trotted back to Vertigo. "So, you live here, or just passing by? After she little inquiry, she laid down paw holding the fruit still as she torn the skin from it.

She excused herself, and he nodded in response. He watched as she treaded over to a tree, picking out a juicy orange from its branches. She pulled it down and pinned it with her paw. He smiled. "Tempting, isn't it? Those fruits. Just hanging there." He knew he couldn't help himself before she arrived. He had already had his orange. He yawned, and listened as she asked her question. "So, you live here, or just passing by?" He pondered. Where did he live? Nowhere. He just...wandered. "Well, a little bit of both I suppose. My home is anywhere I wish to be. I'm just a traveling stray." He told her, lying down on his hanches.

"Same here," she responded, gaze only leaving his as she retunred to her fruit. Jaws snatching up the sweet meat. The grapefruit had been large, perhas even slightly overipe, as the bright pink juice dribbled down her chin a bit. Well, who ever said lstrays were one for manners? Tail twitching somewhat, she rolled the round fruit over with her paws and pinned it firmly down, starting in on the other side. Once finished, all that was left was the outer shell, the peel. Sleep had begun to come to the fringes of her mind, but she pushed it away for the time being, knowing it was not an urgent signal. By now it was completly dark, but she, being a canine, had ajusted rather well to it. Licking her lips, she sat quietly. "How is it that you came to have such a name...Vertigo?" Idly was the question thrown into air, a contented sigh exhaled quietly from her lungs.
