It was nighttime, the time when all of the strange creatures make their callings. The sound of croaking frogs and crickets could be enough to drive a dog mad...but in this case it was enough to put a dog to sleep. Vertigo lay by the bank of the canal, his paw the only thing touched by the green water. His head was rested between his paws, his eyes half-closed. He had lived here all of his life, but he had never really realized truly how beautiful the canal was and sounded. It triggered something in him, a certain childhood memory that he had held onto his whole life. Perhaps he came here once when he was a pup, he didn't remember. The stars were out, holes in the sky that went on forever and he'd look up and hope for a shooting star to wish on but he found none. Even if he did find one, what would the male wish for? His life was the farthest thing from exciting... he would probably wish for something interesting to happen to him. He sighed, a big long sigh and closed his eyes for a mere moment. He was not asleep, but he would be if nobody came to accompany him.

The three year old fae's bi eyes glittered in the soft moonlight, her white speckled mitts hit the scorching pavement almost like lightening. Her bubble gum pink towel hung out of her maw, her cranium was held low. The dim yellow circle glazed over her coat, causing her pelt to swelter slightly. That was the one thing she hated about Florida... The heat, it was bloody awful at times. Though it was nighttime the stickyness still was amidst. Believe it or not the Australian Shepherd Border Collie mixture loved the weather....... Sometimes. It was fantastic to sleep with, a devil to walk under, but splendid to swim with.

Citadel had finally reached the lagoon, a smile was plastered onto her admirable mask when she saw the water. Her front limbs sunk into the green colored liquid, and her hinds followed. Oh it felt so nice. Boy, the sun did make you appreciate water. Then a figure caught her optic, it was a wolf-like brute, his own steel coat shone like a diamond in the ocean.
"Hullo there"
She greeted, her skull bobbing in a nod.
[ blah, sorries.. That was poop ]

At first, he was pretty sure he did fall asleep. But he was wrong. He almost did, and he was pretty darn close. His eyes had closed, but had shot open like he had just heart a ghost when he heard the sound of splashing water nearby. Dark brown orbs scanned the canal area. He met eyes with a striking-eyed female by his side. He blinked twice, hard, then focused himself. One of her eyes was a normal brown color, and the other blueish. It was unique, she was unique; a mutt he could tell. She frightened him just a bit, but he could not blame her for that. He wasn't really prepared for company anyhow.
She was in the water, and for a moment he asked himself why he did not do the same thing. It would feel incredibly good, even in the night's cool air but even in Florida the night was hot. 'Hullo there' she greeted him with a nod of the head, and he mimicked it. "Evening." He said, his voice practically booming like a stereo. He had quite the voice. It made him sound dark and almost evil, but he was nothing of the sort.
